Love ground meat gyros
Even in a pinch, Karen's gyros are a hit with neighbors and college kids. Even our young nephews and niece loved them. Typically with grassfed beef and lamb.
I'm hoping for ground pork, a surprising delicacy, both lean and sensuous.
Sounds like a good summer day.
Real olive oils - last weekend
Karen and I had a chance to spend a day together. We chose to explore and ended up with food and art.
Oxford farmers market had great baked goods, organic onions and herbs. Off the square, we found coffee, ice tea and jewelry. JOlive reminded me there is always more to learn. Oils & balsamic vinegars filled my senses. And they recently had a recipe in the paper - butter infused olive oil, chocolate, steak recipe (marinate and never over cook.)
Holly Springs depot was the nicest surprise - an art crawl. Good folk, craftsmen and artists, both local and regional, an author and the sisters (of diva fame).
On top of having time with one of our sons and his friends, I really appreciated the choice to take a day to live 'intentionally,'
