The two crew @11 weeks or so

Beasties, Besties, Sweet. Jane’ll make him sit aside so she can eat both bowls even though he’s about double her size. They are still small but they stretch out long.

We’ve walked them down the spiral a few times. And climbed it on their own once with encouragement. One time a claw got stuck in a hole for a stair tread. Ill have to add treads soon.

Thermal gusts over sun beaten greenscapes

Downdrafts with each cloud shaded patch

Flying around the scattered thunder clouds

Lightning I was told won’t affect a plane

Native forage abounds

Heatwaves

Tornados

Heavy rains

And the fresh grass covers paths

Branches reach out for light

The grass is thick

Mud is plenty

And shade is welcome

Hordes of piglets dart and dash

as they venture away from mothers

While calves gather, dance, and….  graze

And push for milk as Mom eats.

Saved a fawn today

Sadie’ head was lowered, looked back, looked forward. A newborn fawn curled up behind her under the garage stairs. A cautious guard of her find.

The Norwegians are relentless hunters of vole, squirrel, snake, armadillo, bird. And all dogs catch rabbit. They can’t impact that population on our property of endless grasses, hardwoods and brush.

I set the relaxed doe near the downed hickory centurion. 90 min later, the baby vanished into wood or Meadow.
